I used to think my observations were just a conspiracy theory, just the wild imagination of a girl who spent a decade in a cult. But I’m starting to think that Bill Gothard’s teachings have seeped into more of Evangelcial Christianity than anyone wants to admit. And while they seem benign at first glance, they are dark, deceptive, and damaging. It’s time to expose the lies for what they are! Find all of my stickers at my Etsy store: Be Simply You. Everything is restocked and ready to ship. 😁 I kinda love this trend because it gives people a chance to be warned. I’m not really here to create content or be a lifestyle influencer. I’m just here to share thoughts, make people feel seen, and provide a third way. So I’m pretty sure that the founder of YWAM had ties to Bill Gothard’s teachings. And if that is the case, it’s no wonder people have been damaged. 😭 @bbtbpod @johnnaraeharris Part two of my ranty lament about young adults, spiritual abuse, and Christian organizations like YWAM. I’m writing this with a mix of anger and deep sorrow in my heart. Heartache is a good word. It will probably be a bit of a rant, so consider yourself warned. The last twenty-five years have been a wild journey. Grateful for a Living God who showed up when I wasn’t even looking and pulled me out of the lies and twisted truths I was living in. Grateful to be able to share my story and use my experiences to help others. But it’s WILD that my weird story is suddenly so relevant. 😳 How come we have a whole demonic spirit label taken out of context and the guys get nothing? Hmmm??

    Married to Your Best Friend…

It’s my fault. If I planned better, I would actually schedule a massage with one of my favorite female therapists. But, I usually wait until I’m in desperate pain and then I get whoever happens to be available the morning of my chiropractic appointment. That’s how I ended up, face down, talking with my young male masseuse about relationships and his new girlfriend. After finding out I was married, he wanted to know for how long. At the time it was just over eight years. I will never forget his response. “Wow!! (pause) You must be one of those people who is really into commitment!” Yup! That’d be me…one of…
